I am disappointed about how they handled this, especially how they deleted without saying anything and only made a post to clarify what was going on after people started noticing. But they're a small company and I don't blame them for caving. Maybe Steam will have more pull.

itch.io doesnt have a say in the matter because the payment companies (via, paypal, etc.) are pushing them to do this..
