I think life becomes a little easier once you let yourself love the things you love wholeheartedly.. you don't have to go around and tell everyone that you love someone or something, love it in secret if you must, but truly accepting the fact that you love something so deeply is really cathartic

sometimes I want to block some people that I no longer want in my space but we have like 17 shared mutuals and I feel like that's gonna affect a bunch of things if I do... because the people in question are also very sensitive to rejection.. I'm just not comfortable anymore though so aurgh

This. THIS. Normie friends always mention how furries must be rich to buy art and suits (and like any demographic, I'm sure *a few* are) but for most it's a passion that they work hard and save for, and they *value artwork and artists*.
This fandom has a reputation for being "suspiciously wealthy" but the truth is most furries just love and value art and people so much that they want to use their money for art and supporting artists so they can make a living doing what they love. It's a cycle of genuine passion I think.
