If the DNC tried to reverse engineer this moment what you'd get would be like that video of Saddam Hussein interacting with that British kid he was holding hostage in 1990.

Trump was pushing on an open door when he took over the Republican party, trying to do the same thing from the left to the Democrats will be like the battle of Stalingrad.
February 7, 2026 at 3:57 AM
Both parties are set up so that the power is to the right. For the Republicans this means having a bunch of money around to primary any RINOs and for the Democrats it means if you’re a vendor or consultant who works for a primary contender your name goes on a list.

Yeah, absolutely, but crucially anyone who would actually do this as a social media engagement strategy has the kind of rancid vibes that would make a stripper react to them the same way that a dog reacts to a Terminator.

If only Joe had one tenth that level of compassion for anyone else.

I can't wait for the Democrats to notice people talking about how Hunter Biden is funny and cool and try to turn it into a comms strategy.

Amy Klobochar doing an Instagram reel where she smokes crack before heading into a strip club is something we deserve but won't actually get.

Democrat fan fiction hasn't been this wild since folks were imagining Trump getting arrested in 2020.
February 6, 2026 at 7:56 PM
It's gonna be really cool when the Democrats win a once in a generation victory in the 2026 midterms and the biggest thing that comes out of it is the Kennedy Center gets its old name back.

The youngest person working on this was born in 1967.

I'm loving Vasily Grossman's Stalingrad for the same reason. An epic tale of war and the human experience that also has chapters where a bunch of people talk about ball bearing production in 1943 compared to 1941.

So it must come down to the "collective intelligence" of the 150,000 or so people in the right states that you need to flip an election. The problem is that this collective intelligence DOES NOT EXIST.

This is the most basic problem of politics.
February 5, 2026 at 4:38 PM
Unless you live in one of like four states your chance of casting the deciding vote in a presidential election is about the same as your chance of getting trampled by a unicorn on the way to cash in your winning powerball ticket.
February 5, 2026 at 4:35 PM
The core problem of politics is that it's hard to get a critical mass of people to all do the same thing at the same time.

Any statement that can be summarized as "everyone shoulda just..." isn't even *bad* politics, it's just wishing and if I'm going to wish for something Kamala Harris ain't it.

Men are like 20 times more likely to commit murder.

They saw it happen and decided to make their signature legislation during the Biden years stuff where the good effects would either be felt years after he left office or not at all.

They believed the whole "demographic destiny" thing to the point where they forgot how to do politics.

Are these guys not treated like cops by other cops or is this true in spite of the fact that "professional courtesy" means that a variety of crimes are effectively legal for cops?
February 4, 2026 at 11:44 AM
Well, I'm sure those dickheads in skull masks will scrupulously obey this temporary restraining order.
February 4, 2026 at 11:38 AM
Newsom will never be president. It would be absolutely shocking if he gets the nomination given the mood of the country, and if he gets it the left will stay home and swing voters will vote against Mr. California no matter how far right he swings rhetorically.
February 4, 2026 at 11:31 AM
It's crazy how bad these people are at politics. Biden got fucked by inflation because his presidency was supposed to be a return to normal. Trump's thing was immigration and it turns out that his solution is wildly unpopular.

When you're a liberal even your dreams are subject to austerity.

Being a successful sales manager is worth more points than having lead men in combat.

I guess you could say that the problem is a few bad apples...

If any of these guys get too annoying just text them a Palestinian flag emoji. It's like garlic to them.

I feel like if "makes me feel like a rooten tooten cowpoke" is a legitimate reason for owning a revolver then so is "makes me feel like I'm about to go over the top in WWI".
