I am a ✨young age✨ of 45 and until the day I become incapable of acting, I will continue to deepen my self-awareness so that I can consistently verify my authenticity every time I find myself inside a fictitious story.

I started acting in high school (1996). I sure wish I'd started even earlier. ❤️😆

Do not cross boundaries that shouldn't be crossed. Whether it's an audition, workshop, or a session, no actor should re-experience any kind of personal trauma in any context for the sake of characterization.

Acting is not therapy and it should not be utilized as such.

Hi! I'm June Yoon and I'm a voice actor. This is a Live-Action Dubbing Visual Reel - a brief collection of my recent VO work. 😄

I cannot express enough in words my immense gratitude for allowing me to be a part of these stories. I love this job and I'll work even harder. 😤💪❤️

If you're going to tell me you're on the train, like @eveningmusic.bsky.social that one time, I'm going to have a response.

Also to the following:
- "Me and my friend"
- definately
- there/they're/their
- you're/your

(This is in jest. For the most part. 😆)

One way to measure progress, in my opinion, is this:

Being able to play your own person as a character in a story and sensing your authenticity is fundamental.

Being able to feel that same authenticity with a character who is ✨vastly✨ different than you is progress.

One character at a time. 💪❤️

In addition to happiness, I talk about self-awareness a lot. It's because self-awareness is a tool that allows an actor to assess their own performance inside a given moment. Immediate, present, and in real-time.

Do you believe you? I believe you must, and come as close to the truth as you can. ❤️

I'm often asked, "what now?"

We keep going. Fueled by genuine happiness, grateful for having found it. I firmly believe we are all extremely lucky to have found happiness in this line of work.

Is VO happiness for you? Maybe, maybe not. But you've gotta KNOW at some point. ❤️😌 I hope you know soon.

The first milestone of actor training is to attain the ability to perform as yourself. To make real your behaviors and reactions to a point that it feels honest and truthful TO YOU, inside any fictitious given circumstances.

That's "good." And it's the fundamental expectation. 💪😤

Sublimely ecstatic to have played the main character, Nobody, in the EN dub of Good News. 🥳

It's a dark comedy about a hijacking and the fixers in our midst. Who? Nobody. At times absurd but poignant. Relevant, resonating, and real.

These stories thrive in the hands of the brilliant director--

It's voice ACTING. Honest (therefore believable) performance is the core fundamental requirement.

The label is "acting," indeed. However, what we experience in the booth must be - as close as we can get it to be - very much real.

It's a life-long journey. Let's keep walking. 💪

These Mitsubishi mini-split units are QUIET. 😤 And inside a room, even with a blanket booth, I'd wager the mic won't hear it.

My office is a comfy 76 degrees year-round. If feasible, I'd recommend a Mitsubishi mini-split for your studio.

This is not a sponsored post (sponsor me Mitsubishi!) 😆

Improv is life. Literally. Which is why ✨Yes-And✨ is a wonderful concept that will land real-life, practical impact in both life and work.

Obviously, don't Yes-And EVERYTHING. But when appropriate, when opportune, I firmly believe it's likely to lead to something wonderful. 😌

This industry is filled with stories of "I was unhappy in my adult life/work and now that I'm a voice actor (or other creative craft/field), I'm much happier."

And I'm quite certain that those folks longed for PLAY. That it had degraded over time, as "adulting" took over.
