Expanded silver gouache from lower background to all the background. Also drew a large owl in the left upper segment. Donuts along bottom portion. Owlets sitting along a branch in the middle and at the edge of a tree hole. This stage shows the painted frame: a thorny vine (brown), sparsely leafed (green). This is a 3rd piece in a whimsy series featuring owls, donuts, & trees.

I'm recalling moments of #uplift in recent weeks. This #reclamation is to carry me through spells that range from uncertain to upending. #Grateful for Spring buds seen while visiting #Cambridge MA, & for cooking dishes that fed a table of travelers. #Joy often is a practice of choice.

Fun to bring forward #Whimsy after a different long-term work. Donuts are the curiosity. The owl was a surprise in this first round. This version is still dry with graphite & watercolor pencil.

This detail is taken of the right panel. The angle show its 3D contours. Mounds are shaped distinctly by color ranges & layered materials. The rightmost mound from its lowest point (lower right corner) is constructed with yellow inked paper at its outer edges, & metallic copper yarn as its inner base. Atop this base are threads of embroidery floss, ranging yellow to goldenrod, that affix discs of gold metal beads. This detail is from the right panel, its left top corner. The focus here being patterns of fiber. Most white sections are embroidered through the thin board. The material is alpaca yarn. The braid-like curve of marigold, orange, red-orange, & copper are fibers of yarn (final) & embroidery floss (all the former).

Multi colors, textures, & patterns arranged to convey movement. A main direction is from below to above the surface. Three hands of different colors & sizes are shown in varies poses. Around the hands are glacial views of ice floes, between islands if color.

Mine is a photo of my #RescueDogs cuddling on the couch. When they noodle like so, I just simply glow!

Abstract painting as a circle and layered by many circular shapes that vary size-wise & by color. Also inlaid circles, so that circles are visible in part to entirety. The effect implies movement -- swirling around, as well as forward & backward. The use of white ranges in opacity, lessened when overlapping another color. Lavender to mauve are in the background, and range from translucent to opaque. Opaque uses of black, burgundy, black, soft medium blue.

My #ElderParent who lives with #dementia agreed to volunteer together at a local thrift.

It's a nonprofit supporting people with #SubstanceAbuseDisorder. We cleared 3 tubs & made a pretty space!
