Has anyone out there been playing Jump Rangers? Do you play it on the Jump Rangers ruleset, or do you use a more established #TTRPG engine?

Jump Rangers has a transforming space fighter! The Hercules!

All our designs are built to be used far beyond the #TTRPG, and art director Federico Estevão was insistent that we not use the same transformation sequence seen in Transformers and Robotech, so this was an involved project for us! #scifi
Based on greek battle armor, the design for the Hercules transforming fighter/robot was always meant to reflect the Herc's pugilistic approach to battle. As a robot, the Herc looks like a hand-to-hand fighter. As a fighter, it's obviously very heavy. In every respect the Herc is a brawler!

From art director Federico Estevão, the Saurian Dragon Spacefighter was the first look we managed to nail down for Jump Rangers.

With this ship, Federico managed to establish the look of the entire Saurian Horde as somewhat "Batman inspired," which never occurred to me, and it's perfect!

In it's collapsed configuration, the gothic Saurian Dragon Spacefighter is a fast and powerful weapon built for ramming larger spaceships. With it's wings open, the Saurian Dragon Spacefighter is a fast maneuverable dogfighter that's perfect for eliminating the enemies of the Saurian Horde in space or in the sky.

What was your favorite Saturday Morning Cartoon?

I was always fascinated by the ones with toy lines that didn't take off, because I saw the commercials but I'd never catch more than an episode or two of the actual story.

StarCom. Captain Power. Centurions. The Spiral Zone. I loved MASK.
In the StarCom cartoon, a white male pilot in a space flight suit and a cat in his lap grabs hold of a flightstick. In Captain Power, a live-action series, chromed up soldiers fight for freedom in a dark future.

How often do you play these games?

I play Star Wars at least once or twice a year, and I play Aeon/Trinity a lot more rarely than that... but I'd jump at the chance!
White Wolf Games presents a science-fiction odyssey, in Aeon Trinity! By far, the most fun Star Wars TTRPG is still the one developed by West End Games.

For me, it's either...
A protoss face, ominously lit, adorns one of the release boxes for Starcraft. Space Quest was a platform puzzle game in the 80's, with amazing graphics for it's time and comic satire space worldbuilding unlike any other game of the era. On the cover, you see a space jalopy flying through a very fake, twinkle-light starfield towards a begreebled space station fashioned into the shape of the words "Space Quest."

If I had to pick four games that really expanded what I thought games were capable of at the time...

What games hit your brain like a wake-up call?
This is the final cover for Aeon: Trinity, the cult White Wolf sci-fi TTRPG about engineered biotic supers leading humanity's charge into the future, and about humanity's transition into a bioengineered society. To this day, West End Star Wars is the best Star Wars TTRPG. The box art for Sierra's Space Quest features a photo of a space jalopy - possibly a cab - approaching a space station fashioned in the words "Space Quest." Everyone knows the box art for Mass Effect.... but it's a painting of Shepard, the protagonist, walking away from a collage of his allies, the space ships of the universe, a number of backlit planets, and Saren - the game's villain - looming over him menacingly.

One of the best colony weapons against the Saurian Horde is a transforming fighter mech called the Hercules. One of our goals in designing Jump Rangers is developing concepts that don't need to be redesigned every time we develop Jump Rangers for new media... so the Herc needs to transform!

One of the weapons against the Saurian Horde the colonists have in their arsenal is a transforming space-fighter mech called the Hercules. One of our goals in designing Jump Rangers is developing concepts that don't need to be redesigned every single time we develop Jump Rangers for a new medium... so the Herc needed to be able to transform, and to hold a human pilot while doing so. Designing the Herc is one of the biggest and most challenging jobs of developing the look of Jump Rangers to this point, and these are some concepts from art director Federico Estevão! While the fighter configuration is heavy and bulky, with a Heavy Gear, anime influence, the mech itself is a pugilist with a shield in the style of a Greek warrior.
