Ross Gay is on campus today, giving a reading tonight. But first, he was kind enough to visit my undergrad class to talk about Be Holding, which in a way has held us together all semester. He told us a poem is like saying, “Let’s just stay here together. Let’s breathe.”

Good mail day! Grateful to have a coauthored essay on mystic sexuality in US poetry in this big bold purple thing.

Current mood: this atmospheric photo my preschooler took of a tiny monster truck tucked onto a shelf.

Been here for a while, but happy to oblige with a photo of Meadow. She lost one eye as a kitten on the streets of Delaware and now terrorizes the mice of West Philly.

Turned in copyedits today for Lyric Trade, forthcoming 2024 from University of Iowa Press. Approximately 10x this size stack of paper sitting in another office. Not sure I'll ever attempt this kind of academic monograph again/sure glad I'm done for now (at least until final proofs arrive).
