He said that in the context of defense, not attack. As in, if the shooter got into his home to kill him, it's worth him retaliating in self defense, for the right to defend his and his family's life.

He was debating someone that said they lived by the Bible & they cherry picked a particular scripture. All he did was remind her a few pages over about that scripture. He didn’t advocate stoning gays. Context matters & what’s been shown is snippets of debates. It’s dishonest.
