The unearthing of women’s history from within the unruly, tangled Australian bush is the crux of my new exhibition of photo-media and installation work ‘The Carousel of Invisibility’ opening June 14th 2025 @ Muswellbrook Regional Art Centre.

Video still from a digital video combining landscape imagery of the Australian bush layered with B&W analogue, in-camera double exposed photographs. Light and time sweep through the Australian bush looking to expose traces of untold women’s stories. The elusive Lady Bushranger Jessie Hickman appears in the tangled forest. Artworks for this upcoming exhibition ‘The Carousel of Invisibility’ are darkroom, hand printed, b&w analogue photography along with digital video projections. Surprisingly for me, there is a smattering of AI in one of the moving imagery works. This photomedia will be interspersed with an assemblage of found objects gleaned from underneath and above the ground of the forests near human settlements in regional NSW.
