The arbitrary rules of which animals are and aren’t okay to eat are inherently racist. The people crying over this dolphin eat plenty of animals treated very cruelly, but the “right” animals, eaten in a civilized, white way, while they condemn the people they starve for eating what they can.

This is why I get so frustrated with welfarist campaigns. All those resources and effort to get companies to make pledges, when either the welfare changes are so small and unregulated as to be pointless (cage-free chickens rotting on the floor in sheds unable to move) or it simply isn’t done.
