I will spend hours after school trying to clean my room from their use and set up for my lab, which I couldn’t do during prep. This is just one day but something happens every single day. I’m trying so hard to ensure the conditions are right for me not to burn out and I feel so hopeless so often.

Today I’m sitting in my hot car because my classroom was needed during my lunch and prep. No AC in my classroom so I’ve been surrounded by hot, sweaty, loud all day and now I still have to hear the lunch noise while I try to destim bc I have to keep my windows down.

Like I need a period of time to sit in silence. I need a period of time to do focused quiet work. They can be relatively short periods. But it’s shocking to me how impossible it is to obtain those needs. And if autistic teachers are struggling, autistic students are in hell.

Yeah I wonder why women feel the need to preemptively defend every single choice, so crazy
