I start Monday mornings with a 7:30 AM check in call with 9-10 other alcoholic men, including my sponsor and his sponsor. It feels great that each week I *literally* put sobriety before work or anything else

I'm starting over career wise after having a nervous breakdown, being defrauded by business partners and going to rehab. Not necessarily in that order. Feels scary at nearly 40 years old.

What never fails to blow my mind is the worst case scenario for regretting trans care is being left with permanent physical characteristics that cause you distress because they don't align with your identity--otherwise known as a transgender person's daily life.

So a friend gave me a Brandon Sanderson novel for Christmas and now that I'm sitting down to read it and have learned a little about the Cosmere cycle I'm realizing it was less a gift than a test of my nerd bonifides.
