... Rick Rubin can help a lot too. Didn't get his book yet, definitely on my list. You can listen to any podcast/video he's in and you'll find some precious advice on the creative process coming from the coolest, most successful and blissful music producer of the last decades.

But it's a fairly common issue for a lot of artists. And there are really nice people out there who tried to address it and bring confidence in the self and the creative process. I would for example advise reading Art and fear by Edward Bayles and Ted Orland...

Sounds pretty normal to me. There could be multiple reasons, but for me it's often about the f*cking gap between the ideas and the work. Ideas are shapeless, fluctuating, and complex. Once you try to give them a form in the physical world, they (almost always) appear weaker than in the mind.
