We didn’t get new costumes for the dogs this year due to me dealing with a re-aggravated back injury, but I have managed to take a couple of new photos of them that I enjoy. Here are Piper and June, to make you smile. #SkyHounds #Greyhounds

A Catalog of Burnt Objects is really unique. Set in the fictional town of Sierra, CA, the main character is faced with her brother recovering from addiction and preparing to graduate from hs. If that weren’t enough, her town burns due to a wildfire resulting from climate change. 📚👍🏻 #YALit

Yesterday was our June girl’s 7th birthday! She tolerated the headband and enjoyed her pupcake. 😂 Piper was right in there at the end to make sure she finished every morsel of her birthday treat, even though Piper had her own treat. #SkyHounds #Greyhounds

I read it over spring break, and now I can’t wait to discuss it with my students. The contents- richly depicted characters across three timelines and settings- needed this stunning dust jacket and cover to match. 3/ 👍🏻📚 #YALit

We have the same fuzzy duck toy! We used to have a purple one, but Piper managed to put a hole in it somehow when she was young. 😆 The purple one was named Ruby (after my sister’s dog, who loved a similar toy). The green one is Ruby Tuesday. #Greyhound #SkyHounds

Tiki could have come to hangout with Piper and June while you were at the show! We are in Omaha. 😊 Also, the greyhound people roll DEEP here - lots of people who would have been happy to have her. (Pic of Piper and June from one of the hotels we stayed in on our way to FL last month.)

Still catching my breath after finishing One of Our Kind by the brilliant Nicola Yoon. It was terrifying, thought provoking, and I immediately recommended it to three of my friends. If you are used to her YA novels, this is NOT that, but it is just as excellent. Thanks, @nicolayoon.bsky.social 💙📚

Randy Ribay has done it again. Everything We Never Had is a heart achingly beautiful novel about four generations of Filipino and Filipino American men, all of whom have big dreams and intense emotions, though they don’t always align with each other. #YALit 📚👍🏻
