Last night, California voters responded by passing #Prop50, giving themselves more say in when and how their congressional lines can be redrawn. It’s a direct reaction to watching political power abuse in real time to shape who holds the gavel — and who gets to decide the future of democracy.

This isn’t the end — we must continue to fight. Democrats didn’t start this battle, but we sure as hell won’t run away from it.

When lawmakers manipulate district lines to choose their voters, instead of voters choosing their leaders our democracy is under direct attack. These maps carve up Black, brown & working-class communities to dilute their power in exchange for protecting Donald Trump & his unpopular political agenda.
