Think the basic argument here is correct. We're in a state of national emergency and the government is unable to admit there's a national emergency, let alone describe it or how we can emerge from it. That situation can't last forever.

This can't be said often enough. And if it occasionally triggers alarmist and premature reactions then that is far, far better than the bigger danger of complacency, and leaving it too late.
Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers.
This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.
