There was a point in my lecture where I already had slides about relevant research being done in our dept and how the students could participate, so I took the opportunity to explain that all those studies are funded by NIH and NSF,…

(3) They were grateful to be informed. They asked good questions. Many were visibly shocked. There are no articles in the campus newspaper, and clearly it’s not in their echo chambers.

(1) I always teach about how cogneuro research works, so I incorporated this in a course-related and carefully non-partisan way (important for those of us at public univs).

(2) Of the >100 students, only a handful of them had any prior idea what’s been going on and that/how this affects them.
