Thanks to a new deal negotiated by the Albanese Labor Government, our world-class fruit can now be exported to Canada with no additional treatments.

It’s a sweet win for growers, with the industry worth $680m+, and another example of how we are opening new doors and delivering for Aussie farmers.

Today with Minister Kristy McBain I discussed how our Government is strengthening preparedness for H5 bird flu.

This includes $12 million to states and territories to purchase critical equipment in the event of an outbreak.

We remain the only continent free of the disease, and preparation is key.

It’s National Forestry Day, and the Albanese Labor Government is investing $19million in 15 new plantation projects across TAS, NSW, WA, VIC & NT — boosting Aussie timber supply, cutting reliance on imports, and supporting a Future Made in Australia, including building more homes.

I was in Western Australia today to announce further details of the $139.7 million sheep industry transition package.

This significant support will assist individuals, businesses and communities to plan and adapt to the end of live sheep exports by sea from 1 May 2028.

Honoured to be invited to speak at conferences and events around the country — I always value the opportunity to connect with farmers, growers and industry bodies.

But with Parliament in session, it’s not always possible to be there!

Grateful I could still contribute by pre-recording speeches.

It is an honour to continue representing Australia’s farmers and producers in the Albanese Government as the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry.

My promise to Australia’s farmers and producers is that I will never stop listening and engaging, so I can be a true representative for you.

Boyer Mill in the Derwent Valley is Australia’s only paper mill.

A re-elected Albanese Labor Government will invest $24 million in the mill, supporting over 300 local jobs and preparing them for a low-emissions future.

Tasmanians face a clear choice this election.

Labor is delivering cheaper medicines, more free doctor visits, and new Medicare Urgent Care Clinics across Tasmania - including one in Kingston.

Only Labor has a real plan to ease cost-of-living pressures and to strengthen Medicare.

The worst of nature tends to bring out the best in people.

That’s certainly true of the Charleville community, who took the time this week to show me how they’re working to assess and repair the damage after the severe weather in western Queensland.

Under Labor, medicines are about to get even cheaper.

A re-elected Albanese Labor Government will make sure a PBS prescription costs no more than $25.

Because you shouldn’t have to check your bank balance to see if you can afford the medicine you need.

Only Labor will build Australia’s future.

More than 76,000 Tasmanians have used Labor’s Urgent Care Clinics!

Not only are they free with your Medicare card, they save a trip to the emergency department and take the pressure off our hospitals.

A re-elected Albanese Labor Government will provide 3 more Clinics in Kingston, Sorell and Burnie

A re-elected Albanese Labor Government will invest $910,000 in the Kingston Beach Surf Life Saving Club.

It will help them build a club room for meetings and training for their growing 400 members!

It also helps ensure beach users are safe, with the club having a permanent home.

We know cost of living and healthcare are your main priorities, and only a Labor vote can ensure we don’t get Peter Dutton’s cuts.

Australia has an impressive record in agriculture, feeding millions of people both here and abroad, but we can’t be complacent.

That’s why a re-elected Albanese Labor Government will help secure Australia’s food future with the development of a new national food security strategy: Feeding Australia

Kingborough will get its own Urgent Care Clinic under a re-elected Albanese Labor Government!

With no appointment necessary and fully bulk-billed, it will ease pressure on our hospital emergency department.

I have fought for a Kingston UCC, and will be proud to deliver it.

A berry good week for a conference!

It was a pleasure to be asked to open BerryQuest International 2025 in Hobart this week by Berries Australia!

BerryQuest unites growers, stakeholders and industry experts to share knowledge on biosecurity, trade and the latest technology.

The Albanese Labor Government will provide $6 million to support essential maternity services in Hobart.

I joined Minister for Health Mark Butler in Hobart yesterday for the announcement, which will restore certainty to parents and babies following Healthscope’s decision to stop providing services.
