I think about kids who learn about growth mindset & how to apply it…that mistakes are important in the learning process. That you problem solve, listen, reflect & make a plan for next time based on this process. It becomes harder to find news stories of adults taking ownership & showing empathy.

These tech bros are being allowed to make money without any protections in place for kids. Why are we still using these platforms & letting our kids use them?! Child advocacy needs to be top of mind and actions in 2026.
7 Allegations Against Meta in Newly Unsealed Filings
Court filings allege Meta tolerated sex trafficking, hid harms to teens, and prioritized growth over user safety for years.

I toured a TDSB high school yesterday. The teachers & students were amazing & the program looked strong. The facilities were run down. The stairs had grooves, parts of ceiling loose, lockers & equipment ancient. It made me wonder how many people who voted for Ford have seen the state of schools.

Tom Hanks explains to Stephen Colbert why he masks on the subway:

"I'm doing a play right now so I cannot get sick... I've had COVID enough in my life, I don't need to do that again. So I'm wearing this for health reasons."

Thank you Tom! Masks are still a key part of public health.

I know there won’t be a city wide parade to thank the Blue Jays but it would be so cool if schools celebrated the teamwork, persistence, risk taking, empathy (& really all the learning skills students practice) with parades! You don’t win every time but there’s so much to celebrate. #bluejays

The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice. Except it doesn’t bend on its own—it bends because we pull it in the direction of justice. What keeps me hopeful during times like these is being surrounded by people who are doing just that.

So well stated! We need to stop this misinformation ASAP.
"You can’t eradicate autism without eradicating autistic people. It’s genocidal rhetoric against us that’s justified by 'autism destroys families. It destroys children.' No, it doesn’t. It’s bias against autistic people."

RFK Jr. says there aren't autistic poets. We asked an autistic poet.
"I will challenge RFK Jr. to write a poem as good as me any day of the week."

This is such a wonderful tribute to #RobertMunsch. On rainy days in kindergarten we’d always pull out a Munsch book or one from the Franklin series, because we’re Canadian & even on wild days, kids would be spellbound. www.nytimes.com/2025/09/14/m...

We passed some kids doing something dangerous & they seemed embarrassed. 1 of them called me “retard”. I said “When you have the privilege of making friends with someone with Down’s Syndrome you’ll never say that again” It probably didn’t change a thing but I couldn’t ignore hate from a kid. 💔

There’s something about stories that opens people up a little and sparks empathy. This story is so well told by @laurie.frankel. I bet it’s helped many to see that trans kids are just kids & their parents are just parents figuring out the best way to love and support them. 💕🏳️‍⚧️

I’m seeing so much fear mongering about getting kids ready for kindergarten. Teachers will meet kids where they are & help them to have great learning experiences. If your kid knows when they need help & how to ask for it, they will thrive. I’m

#RyansLaw exists to protect those with #Asthma (a number increasing, btw, as C19 continues to reinfect).

At times of extreme heat, it is particularly urgent to improve the air students/staff breathe!

We’ve mentioned this before: Ryan’s Law requires that schools take action to protect students with asthma by reducing the risk of exposure to asthma triggers.

This is one way to get AC into classrooms during a heatwave to protect vulnerable students!

Anyone can become disabled at any time. It’s one of the few minority groups you can always join.

Even if you do everything “right”. Even if you’re young and healthy. Even if you “try hard”

It’s not a moral failing. It’s a part of life. Engage in disability justice.
