Totally agree. I grew up in a Republican family, which I never totally understood. As a teen in the 1970s, I didn't get how my parents of moderate income were Republicans. I think it was the appeal of "traditional values" and anti-communism. This Republican party is the polar opposite.

My mother is 92. Has owned her house for 50 years, lives on almost nothing and gets funds from this program.

I just started collecting SS last August. I try not to have panic attacks about possible cuts. We paid into this all of our working lives, for me, that was 50 years of work.
