After the tragic loss of kākāpō Solstice, it was time for a new adoption: Marama. 💚🥰

...already planning to adopt a sixth one soon.

Why not just give Steve a call? I bet that guy has something to do with it.

Every loss is devastating, but this one hit me a bit harder. She was special, and she was one of my 4 adopted kākāpō. 💔

The loss of my adopted kākāpō Solstice, which has reduced the population of this critically endangered species to 237 birds, and now the loss of Jane Goodall, whose wisdom and words of warning will stay with us for a long time, have made me very thoughtful and sad today.

We should feel encouraged to make a contribution ourselves, regardless of how much effort we are willing to invest. Because even the smallest things make a difference.

That's why I've been supporting Kākāpō Recovery since 2019. 💚

Just a funny/embarrassing side note: first listening to "Iain and Deanna" I thought you were singing "...,Deanna from Asia." and not HR. I should add that English is not my first language. 🙈

This was our Labrador. A name from this list of medieval dog names would probably have been much more appropriate for him I suppose- like Hornyball, Pretyman, or Gaylarde. But his name was Eddie. Just Eddie. 😄❤️

Spending another weekend at work. I love my job, but the constant lack of staff is exhausting.

@jemaineclement.bsky.social if you see this, would you mind liking this post? As a big fan of your work, that would really cheer me up today. ☀️

By the way: I recently found out about the new sci fi comedy series Warren's Vortex, created by Paul Yates and Nick Ward, starring Maaka Pohatu. Watched the 1st episode last week, it was very funny! Always nice to see the sarge. 😊

Much love from a big Wellington Paranormal fan in Germany. 💛🖤

I knew it was a good idea to have my emotional support Minion with me when I went to the cinema to see M3GAN 2.0. 😆

Sad news from the kākāpō recovery team: 23-year-old female kākāpō Kuihi passed away. 💔
The kākāpō population is now 241.

I think the crow blinked at the exact moment I took this photo ...makes the crow look a bit creepy the closer you look at it. 😬

A colleague of mine spent a few weeks working as a meteorologist on board a research vessel in the waters around Auckland. And he brought me something from New Zealand. 👇🥹🥰
