I’ll fill this out sometime, since it appears this is a platform worth staying in.
Gee, like you maybe could have done something about interrupting the Republican agenda but chose not to. You’re the living embodiment of everything that is wrong with the Democratic Party and why people do not trust Dems. You choose comity with those who would destroy the Republic. Resign.

Democrats have to stop taking the high road and chasing bipartisanship that doesn’t exist. The optics of elected Democrats needs to meet the urgency of this moment. You need to fight. If you’re not willing to do that, make room for people who will.

And of course point out what a lying, unstable shitweasel the President is, and how he’s breaking every promise he ever made to working people to enrich billionaires, advocate white supremacy, do war on equality, and exact revenge on anyone who isn’t white and male.

Put another way, we throw LGBTQ and especially trans people under the bus, the Right will just pick something else and we do this all over again. Appeasement is not the answer, we’ve been doing it since 1994 and it Has. Not. Worked.
November 18, 2024 at 1:38 PM
Yep. So tired of Dems trying to move right to get people to like them.
November 17, 2024 at 10:19 PM
To sum up, it’s the billionaires, stupid.

Why do Republicans make abortion a thing when they don’t give a shit about women or children or families, since their policies support none of these things? See above re: culture wars.
November 17, 2024 at 5:00 PM
Why do Republicans launch themselves wholeheartedly into bizarre culture wars about things that don’t affect them? Billionaires funding weaponized Christianity groups and making them dupes to divide and conquer so they can loot the country while everyone should be minding their own business.
November 17, 2024 at 4:59 PM
Why do Republicans want tax cuts for the wealthy? Billionaires. We know it ain’t gonna trickle down.
November 17, 2024 at 4:55 PM
That’s kind of my point. Dude should know better.
November 17, 2024 at 4:44 PM
Yes, please, let’s just keep moving the Overton Window to the right and maybe they’ll like us more and let us win something. Goodness me, Dems need to stop trying to be Pick Me Republicans.
November 17, 2024 at 4:40 PM
Actually on further reflection this is a pretty shitty take indeed from Favs given that his pal Lovett is one of the people that Republicans would love to take rights from and force back into the closet.

And I apologized like I did to demonstrate to The Internet how you can own being wrong like a grownup. So thanks to @jlindy.bsky.social for pointing out my dumb.
November 17, 2024 at 4:29 PM
Actually, yes she should. She usually does.

This is what I get for hot takes (okay, mea culpa @whstancil.bsky.social) and I am still in the white-hot-rage period of processing this. There is a LOT of nuance here, but if we’re going to start leaving parts of our tent behind, we are on the wrong path.
November 17, 2024 at 4:22 PM
Way to throw the queers under the bus, Will. Maybe find a different punching bag?
November 17, 2024 at 4:04 PM
Okay, with you on that, yet here we are…
December 28, 2023 at 10:51 PM
Okay!

How someone responds to that sort of abuse is what matters. Elon is unquestionably a victim here. But the man chooses, every day, to be a total prick. Elon’s victimhood doesn’t excuse his behavior. He didn’t deserve the treatment his father gave him. But he need not visit it on others. /end

I would love to read the whole thing. But it is paywalled— I did read what was available. The point I’m making is simply that Elon’s hobbies don’t matter. They explain nothing substantive, justify nothing. His father is arguably even more horrible than Elon himself is. /1
