The task’s customizability, minimal language demands, and an efficient data-collection method make it a valuable tool for cross-cultural research. We hope that the TANGO-CC'S pragmatic construction process can provide a roadmap for future cross-cultural studies on social-cognitive development 🌍🌎🌏

In a data set from 2.5- to 11-year-old children from 17 diverse communities, we analyzed the psychometric properties of the task. The TANGO-CC captures individual- and community-level variation and shows good internal consistency. Within-community variation outweighed between-community variation.

Yeah, our TANGO task runs on tablets & computers. For tablets, children touched the screen themselves. For computers, children pointed to the screen while caregivers acted as their „digital finger“. Results are comparable. Sadly, we don’t have experiences with children using the mouse themselves
