Shit's been hard. Times are dark. It's easy to light ourselves on fire and wait for it all to go to hell. But easy doesn't mean good, and fire is not the best way to light a room.
I'm trying, as I know you are. I tell you: there's light in us and there's light to chase. Let’s find our way home.

And if you want to learn a bit more about the why behind my work and get prints at family-and-friends prices, you can also join my mailing list from there. Here's a bit of text I wrote when I showed the piece to my art family:

This piece is called "The World is on Fire," and it was a way for me to process the events happening outside our collective windows and the shockwaves some cataclysmic events brought to my close world. If you like it, there are prints and stickers available. Just go to my link-in-bio.

Morning doodle to try and get my hands working. Trying a couple new things with this one. What's the verdict? Did I succeed?

Today's doodle! A Knob-billed Duck. With a splash of red because, of course. Happy Valentine's Day, lovely folks!

It's a trying time, this one we're living through. But most are, and it's up to us to decide what to do with them.

If you want to take a look at the prints, you can go to www.julianrodriguez.... or just take a look at the link in my bio.

Have a good one, people!

Even though, most of the time, change means movement, I wanted to paint our moths frozen in time. But not immobile. Cause we go through things as things go through us. We just have to decide how to deal with the moment we're in. In quiet patience under the Moon, or raising fierily above the Sun.

Moths are magnificent little beasts, and we have used them as symbols for many things. But a common theme across the board is that they encapsulate transformation and change.

Hey folks, it's been a while! Hope you're all doing well!

I showed these ones in my newsletter last week, and now I'm sharing them here. I call them "Sub Luna" (the blue-green-purple-ish one) and "Per Solis" (the other one). That means "Under the Moon" and "Above the Sun", respectively.
