I think now more than ever they are incentivized to give it to him, bc it looks like the stock price really is ONLY held up by Musks nonsensical promises of robots and self driving cabs. The core business isn't doing so well after all

My sense is that building alternatives is tricky since both technologies require vast amounts of money to develop, while the path to profitability or broader consumer appeal seems complicated for AI and AR respectively. At least from my perspective.

Hmm, maybe a good first step would be to pass federal privacy laws in the US to rein them in. And that already seems very much out of reach currently :(
