That's a great question and I'll answer next week when I'm in a better state of mind.

Yup. They traded McCaffrey and DJ Moore to get to No. 1. They’re possibly 13 games away from flushing every selection they made from the 2023 draft. Can’t win if you’re missing that badly and parting ways with quality players in an effort to get better but actually getting so much worse.

Trading away Christian McCaffrey and then using two of the picks you received to trade up for a 24-year-old project at edge rusher who cannot rush the passer or set the edge is about as bad as team-building gets.

Thanks for the heads up. Just changed my settings.

Average Margin of Defeat for Carolina Panthers Head Coaches:

Dave Canales: 18.2
Frank Reich: 12.1
Matt Rhule: 11.4
Ron Rivera: 11.1
John Fox: 12.6
George Seifert: 10.9
Dom Capers: 10.9

Dom Capers took over an expansion team, and they were putting up a better fight each week.

In my defense, they're 20-52 since I've been hosting the show. So, I don't often get to talk about days like last Sunday. Don't know how to act.

Expected Points Added. It measures how much a play impacts a team's likelihood of scoring, calculated as the difference between the expected points before and after a play.

I apologize. I have to do a better job of explaining what EPA means.

Well, it sounds injury will force a change.

He was a non-factor at South Carolina until the Gator Bowl vs. Notre Dame. Came back the next season and was thrust into the No. 1 role because Juice Wells was hurt and was awesome. But he will not get five years to develop in the NFL. Brycen Tremayne should take his job. Horn is behind Tremayne.

I’m looking at Pro Football Reference and his success rate was 33.3 which was only ahead of Russell Wilson and Cam Ward. That is more representative of what we all watched on Sunday. Success Rate is a far superior stat to whatever PFF’s grading metrics are.
September 9, 2025 at 4:08 PM
No, I understood your point as general frustration with PFF itself, not with me. Also, everyone pulled those numbers before PFF had graded every QB in Week 1. Bryce is 19th overall grade and 14th passing grade.
September 9, 2025 at 4:02 PM
I’ve always thought of PFF as just one way to tell the story. Yes, he graded out well but our eyes can see that he didn’t play well. That’s also why I also bring up success rate and EPA and other advanced stats.

Dave Canales didn’t have answer for what the disconnect is. So if he doesn’t know then they have bigger problems.

Days like this aren’t fun. It’s good for interaction when it’s Week 1 but by Week 5 people start to tune out and I start to lose money.

Appreciate that!

Yes and yes.
