I'm a musician, trekkie, gym rat, and political junkie. I enjoy writing music, especially for choirs, and I think that making music together is one of the best ways we can heal our world. 🌈🍉

Foemen at morn, but friends at eve--
Fame or country least their care:
(What like a bullet can undeceive!)
But now they lie low,
While over them the swallows skim,
And all is hushed at Shiloh.

You need to know what is happening currently on Capitol Hill. Summary, it's worse than bad. We're talking about ending America bad. We knew this was coming, but now that it's here, it's even worse than anyone expected.

I saw this poem by @kaitlinshetler.bsky.social on the meta place and had to share it here. Thank you for hitting hard and feeding the souls of the resistance.

Here are 60 seconds of "A Parable of Choices”. It presents two worlds in which we each choose to live every day. One is governed by pride, war, and death. The other, peace through humility and forgiveness. Which will you choose today?

60 seconds for some music?

This is The Lover's Crown, and the text is by Oscar Wilde. He went to prison for the crime of loving the wrong kind of person, and Florida is one SCOTUS decision away from reviving a similar law. Love is worth the sacrifice.

I'll link to the full piece in a reply.

The show that made me very aware of my closeted sexuality (thanks James Marsden). Bonus, because my fundamentalist family tuned in for the Biblical reference, so I never had to ask to watch it.
