Whimsical wildlife illustrations in the Pacific Northwest.
This week my studio has been full of earring making and notebook binding. The busy work has been a welcome distraction from the persistent dread that comes with this administration and the hate they breed.

Moments from my studio during the week.
Painting and assembling mini original artworks into earrings. Also found these shelves at an estate sale in Albany, Oregon. I'm still organizing and figuring out how I'll display things on them.
See the earrings at the Albany mushroom festival this Sunday.

Last weekend was excellent ⭐ Paddle boarding, listening to local musicians, blackberry picking, and baking a crisp.

I was too busy to get in the garden. Sunday the zucchini were monsters, eggplant loaded with fruits, and the cherry tomatoes ripe! So I made a garden veggie pasta sauce for dinner.

A ragdoll cat cutie named Blue. Pet portraits seem to be the theme this winter. I've lost count of how many I've painted since November 💜

Pet portraits in late winter. Photographing artwork with natural light in the pnw is a challenge/art in itself. And I am not great at it. #petportrait

Here is the illo I used for the seed swap flyer. I don't often paint potentials but this illo of forget-me-nots was relaxing and very enjoyable. #botanicals

I've been painting this mini badger piece the last few weeks. Just working on it in small chunks. I think today is the day I'll lay the last brush strokes on his cute freaking face. #badger

Painting with a very clingy Yorkie. And yes I am painting like this while he closely watches the brush strokes. We're talking sniffer less than one inch from the painting. #artstudio

I've been in a sort of auto pilot with my art for the past 5 years. Just painting things the way I see them instead of painting things the way I see and feel them. The soul of my (personal) art has disappeared. So I'm trying to fix that.
