I do think it will unfold quite naturally once I get going.

And I think you're spot on - draft it first, figure out the next steps later. And the only way to draft something without certainty about what you're going to write is to start writing. At least for me.

Well, the most obvious is parenting/highly sensitive/gifted/2e kids- I already have a lot written about this, but lately I'm thinking a lot about secular homeschooling and the fate of public schools in America. I also have a feeling that something else is calling and I just haven't found it yet.

We tried blossom and root science and river of voices, and my daughter didn't care for the spines. She also wasn't actually interested in studying one branch of science for the whole year. Really, it was just about her personality and learning style.

It is very, very difficult to create a classroom environment that fully supports optimum growth for every child, and to provide teacher education that leads to this result is a monumental task.

One other thought - maybe universal public school isn't the social justice machine that many think it is. Without alternatives available I fear that school would impose ceilings on many students who don't fit the perspectives of teachers and administrators.

It is a system that is very hard to change from the inside.

I recognize the privilege required to homeschool, but I think this is often overestimated.

I also wonder how many have looked into homeschooling communities that fall outside of the stereotypes (religious isolationists).

If we could absolutely guarantee that all children would have their needs meet in public school, I would agree that it should be the only option. As it stands, however, public schools are creating a lot of traumatized kids that might be off radar. A lot of kids whose needs aren't being addressed.

We haven't had great luck with blossom and root but know that it's if people love it. Have you looked at Wild Math/Wild Reading?

Saving this! I'm 45 and have an appointment with my doctor next month. I was already planning to discuss the challenges I've had recently, and now I'm going to bring this info along. My GP dismissed my questions about perimenopause, so I'm hoping that this goes better.

I'm looking at office hours (a set block of time each month where you can reach out for real time coaching) for a small donation, and a monthly allotment (tiered pricing). Which fits best? I want to hear your voices.
