Impact and insight note from TreE_PlaNat @uktreescapes.bsky.social project is out! Natural colonisation can successfully create structurally diverse woodlands and can be combined with tree planting to reduce the uncertainty of using natural processes alone www.uktreescapes.org/wp-content/u...

Our new #TreeDivNet paper led by Hernán Serrano-León is out in @globalchangebio.bsky.social! Using data from 9 forest diversity experiments across Europe, we showed that tree diversity effects on tree growth responses strengthened during consecutive drought years dx.doi.org/10.1111/gcb....

Central florets of wild carrot (Daucus carota) flowers are often dark purple, but why? Turns out they can act as an insect mimic and may attract pollinators to the flower (doi.org/10.1111/j.14...) as well as reduce parasitisation by the gall midges (doi.org/10.1111/j.14...) #wildflowerhour
