In August, Biden gave up two convicted Russian hackers as part of a prisoner swap, the first time the US had done so, to return WSJ reporter Evan Gershkovich. Today we learned that Trump's deal to return Marc Fogel meant giving up Alexander Vinnik, a key money launderer for Russian hackers.

A person with direct knowledge confirmed with me that Marko Elez requested that the Wayback Machine remove all of his past tweets.

A Internet Archives rep said this is their longstanding policy — that rights holders can request URLs to be excluded — but wouldn't comment on any specific case.
The Internet Archive has removed its archives of individual tweets from the account belonging to DOGE staffer Marko Elez.

The WSJ reported yesterday that this account belonged to Ekes, and that many of these tweets were racist and led to his resignation.

A Justice Department official told Mike Fanone that — thanks to Donald Trump’s pardons of the violent rioters who assaulted him — that, in the eyes of DOJ, he is “no longer a victim,” Fanone told me.
