This scene lives rent free in my head as well, I'm glad I'm not the only one!

There is a silliness to it, but with a solid dose of earnestness. A "hi friend" followed by a hug is a wonderful greeting, and "hey friend, can you pass me a beer" also works. "Fam" is basically the same. There's a word for you out there, I believe!

Ahhh yes a statement ending in ", friend" is very different. This is more like a greeting entering a room or starting a group chat - "Hey friends, long time no see!"

It never occurred to me, but I use "friends" this way.

That's so much fun, I've been meaning to try making stamps for printing fabrics and that sounds like a perfect way to start. Yours all look great!

Did you make your own stamps for some of these, too?

I second knitpicks and local yarn shops! I got a lot of stuff at knitpicks (and JoAnn's, RIP) to get me started including sets of hooks and needles and pretty decent yarn, and then have tried to go more towards LYSs since then.

Ahhhh my mom and grandmother made these for my family, and my husband's aunt made them for his extended family! We had matching stockings before we ever met 💗

This is what it can do, I am pretty sure all the stitches over the edge of the fabric are overlock stitches, and H, J and K are coverstiches, which are commonly used for the parallel straight lines.

I think serger and overlocker are mostly synonymous, and based on this article a cover stitch machine is often its own beast, though combo serger/coverstitch machines do exist? I apparently have a combo that I got second hand from Craigslist, the Singer 14t968dc
