Mit Balkis durfte ich erkunden, was es bedeutet, als Kind wütend zu sein. Dass diese nicht automatisch etwas schlechtes ist. Und vielleicht hilft Balkis in Zukunft anderen Kindern etwas besser zu verstehen, was für ein starkes und wunderbares Feuer in ihnen schlummert.

I find myself thinking about my younger self a lot lately.
Back in 2000 I was about to finish school considering a career as an artist. I abandoned that goal.
25 years later I am a working writer – in awe of that young girl who had to be so strong to get us to where are today.
