@mrjamesob.bsky.social IMO right from the start Trump has been using tariffs purely to intimidate countries into negotiating deals solely beneficial to the US. I just hope that Keir Starmer remains strong on food standards, on-line safety and the NHS.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social My 99 year old father has no private pension & relies solely on his state pension and is £8 over the cut off for pension credit.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social Just a thought, a very wealthy friend & her husband have no children, he’s retired, she’s freelance & doesn’t employ staff & whilst they’d be happy to pay more tax the budget does not effect them at all. They won’t even pay anything extra when they sell their 2nd property.
