The original version starts with “first they came for the socialists.” It’s not bigoted or anti Jewish to point that out because the fact of the Holocaust was that the Jews were not first. The socialists were because they were on the front lines fighting for the rights of Jews and Trans people.

Stop conflating communism with fascism. They’re two diametrically opposed systems. The poem you’re commenting under, in its original form starts with “first they came for the Communists” because communists are always opposed to Fascism and the most effective at fighting them.
