It is, I know women who would love to just be able to have a game and socialise with each other but that's not what (in my experience), clubs want to do.

Actually, it probably needs to be a study rather than just an article. Maybe it's just in my area, but the element of playing for fun seems to far fallen by the wayside.

I recall Kate Cross being selected for a tour and never making it on to the pitch, but she knew from the get-go that she wasn't going to play. The same may be true of DWH - it's unlikely that it would be revealed to the public at large during the competition.

I don't think you can equate the two tbh, one is a result of the political tensions between the two countries which gives the players no control over their actions, the other is the laws of cricket applied correctly by the officials, however petty it may seem it was up to Mlaba not to do a send off.

Quite a few names I'd never heard of before, tbh it did look a bit like box ticking in some respects. There are better people out there.
