🚑 Mav declared OUT for Portimão. They hope to have him back for Valencia. Pretty crazy Viñales has now been unfit for more races in 2025 than he's been race fit. What could've been thinking of his form before this crash, and what Acosta is able to do now...

Just a small Dutch touch to the announcement of Nicolo Bulega replacing Marc Marquez for the last two MotoGP races of '25 😁

Bulega is the first World Supersport (step-up series to World Superbike) champion (2023) to eventually be promoted to MotoGP since... Michael van der Mark (2014). Yay Holland!

🇲🇾 20 down, 2 to go.
- another solid Alex performance
- Acosta outperforms the KTM
- Pecco can't (really) catch a break but wasn't running behind Chantra
- that Franky overtake on Quartararo 🚂
- just when we thought Aprilia had the best all-round bike...
- can't Gresini just keep this tone of blue?

🇲🇾 So, Friday at Sepang tells us:
- Rain is down to party this weekend
- Pol keeps delivering: straight to Q2
- Alex M. goes down twice but still makes it to Q2
- Pecco does not go straight back into the garage after a first lap
- Q1 is gonna be 🔥 with Bez, Aldeguer, Pecco, Marini, Fernandez & Binder

As discussed in the pod today, Pecco was delighted but also angry. He really feels Ducati could've gone along with him a lot earlier this season.

This is Tardozzi post race to Sky Italia:

📸 As mentioned in our MissedApex MotoGP San Marino race review; the very different aero design Michele Pirro tested on Monday. Much resembling the Aprilia and Yamaha 'mustache' wing, moving away from their own style as copied by KTM and Honda.

Curious as to what they bring at the Valencia test.

Still over a month to go before the MotoGP circus camps out at the cathedral that is Phillip Island.

But... already a casualty among poultry as Australian Superbikes hit the deck (and erm... and unfortunate bird) this weekend.
September 15, 2025 at 6:26 PM
Looking at performances ever since Bez got dialled in at Silverstone, I wonder if Aprilia and him have developed their bike in season to such a degree it's the best combo on the grid. Surpassing the GP24, and obvs leaving out alien Marc and his enigma GP25.
September 14, 2025 at 6:44 PM
🇭🇺 That's more of the same, for Pecco, or compared to last week: worse. Again. Acosta fastest, Pol, Mir, Marini, evwn FQ to Q2. But P13 for Bagnaia, 1.1s off the pace.

He wasn't helped by late yellow flags and Alex getting in the way. But overall it's from bad to worse again.

Digi trying everything to not lose that factory bike.

🇦🇹 Das Wetter...
The various Austrian weather reports have different views on how much rain for the MotoGP weekend at Spielberg.

But all are predicting rain WILL fall on Sat afternoon amd Sunday during morning and afternoon. From showers to thunderstorms... Guess we'll have to wait and see
August 14, 2025 at 9:55 AM
Not too shabby: Vale Rossi's designer Aldo Drudi had a go at the VR46 machines for the Italian GP 👌
June 19, 2025 at 10:34 AM
Chances of a thunderstorm on Saturday, but apart from that it looks like pressing Tuscany heat for the Mugello GP-weekend 🥵
June 19, 2025 at 8:18 AM
It's Mugello coming up next! Last year we saw Jorge Martin grab pole on Sat only to crash out of the lead later on in the Sprint. On Sun he had to settle for 3rd, and later that evening found out his verbal agreement with Ducati Corse was worth exactly nothing due to a last minute Marquez power play
June 12, 2025 at 11:08 AM
Pecco for the win at Mugello? No, sir, he says. He acknowledges the boost in confidence and step forward, but is not (yet) at 100% of how he could ride in previous years. Plus he keeps repeating Marc is on another level.

My feeling is: Alex/finishing P2 in the champ is his goal for 2025.
June 10, 2025 at 8:45 AM
And there it is. As expected Aprilia doesn't ignore the Jorge Martin break-up juice. They basically say: there's a contract til the end of 2026, we honor it, we expect Martin to honor it, and nobody (looking at you, HRC) dare to approach him.

A formal message, without any consoling quote by Jorge.
May 22, 2025 at 11:29 AM
👀 Fermín casually putting it out there, while pressure is piling on for Pecco.

"The goal of every rookie riding for a 🛰️ team is to end up in the factory team. My 2+2 contract is directly with Ducati. If my results are good, the factory team should happen in 2027. We’ll see, but that’s the plan."
May 21, 2025 at 1:55 PM
Nooo. Not Jack!

Honda are reportedly persuading Jack Miller to leave MotoGP for their Worls Superbike programme... 😕
May 21, 2025 at 7:36 AM
🥵 KTM seems saved! For now at least. Today holding company Pierer Mobility announced it had secured money to meet Friday's deadline of paying off 30% of their 2.2 billion Euro debt.

Almost 2.000 employees have lost their jobs in less than 18 months. Another 200 are expected.

🏁 It's race week! Last year's British GP saw some sweet retro liveries, plus Aleix got pole with a lap record! It was Bastianini making headlines with a sprint AND race win. He did his thing of managing tyres - in cool conditions - overtaking Martin for the win on Sunday with two laps to go.
May 19, 2025 at 12:09 PM
🟢The Hungarian GP is definitely happening this summer, says Dorna. The Balaton Park track (📷) is nearing completion apparently.

Regarding the 2026 season: Brazil is on, replacing Argentina, at the Autodrómo Internacional Ayrton Senna in Goîania.

MotoGP in Saudi-Arabia not happening before 2028.
May 16, 2025 at 8:58 AM
Wouldn't be surprised if his mate Aleix played a part in Jorge Martin going down this route of splitting up with Aprilia. Aleix, being their high profile test rider, knows what's cooking at Honda. And the Japanese need a star rider, have the money (and I reckon they don't see Johan Zarco as such).

🚑 Medical updates:

❌ Somkiat Chantra is out of the French GP, not fully recovered from arm-pump surgery. No word yet on a replacement rider for LCR Honda.
❔ Pedro Acosta had the same operation and awaits a final medical check at the track.
❔ Franco Morbidelli too, after his heavy crash in Jerez GP.

Unlikely the rear end aero winglets be one of those; went on and off the Ducati's at Jerez-weekend and BAG didn't run them in the test. So MM will remain on more of a GP25 than BAG, who doesn't wanna experiment too much as long "the feeling" isn't there...
