Seminar at the Theodor-Heuss-Akademie der Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung in Gummersbach. Three days discussing the Liberal response to right-populism. Also the last ever seminar here, at what had become the centre of global Liberalism. What remains are the many inspiring memories. Thank you!

Western European liberals can learn much from their East European friends about safeguarding liberal democratic institutions. The merger of the two European FNF regions is an exciting opportunity. I am thrilled to be in Sofia at the regional meeting of my colleagues in southeast and east Europe.

Remarkable how well the Liberal Democrats are doing in the UK - the only serious alternative to Farage’s Reform and overtaking the Tories in the latest polls. Meeting with Europe Spokesman James MacCleary MP and looking forward to FNF Europe’s further UK-EU Liberal Dialogues.

3 days in Berlin/Potsdam with our colleagues from Germany and abroad to assess how at these testing times we best promote international security, global trade and liberal-democratic institutions and revitalise liberalism. Challenge accepted, opportunities aplenty!

It is not too late to get our act together and for Europe to seriously compete with Chinese electric vehicles, but we have to be fast - particularly in promoting a far higher level of innovation and of cooperation in the European car industry. This was the message of Sam Goodman today.

More democratic backsliding threatens Hungary, the banning of Budapest Pride and a foreign agents type law just being an example.
This affects the democratic fabric of the entire values based EU, it may not continue unopposed.

FNF Europe in Budapest, with the brave MPs of Momentum in Parliament.

We are fortunate to be part of a movement that stands against the breakdown of the liberal world order, of liberal-democracy and of fundamental freedoms. We are Europeans for the future of freedom. And we shout it from the rooftops at the FNF Europe regional meeting in Budapest.

Discussion on Foreign Interference, organised by FNF Europe in Berlin. Focussing on Russian and Chinese interference in European democratic processes, and inevitably on Musk and the MAGA-crowd. Europe must not be intimidated by a false plea for freedom of expression that in practice is anything but.
