Sorry Amy *Coney* Barrett -would have been nice to have a different majority in the Supreme Court. Alas, we do not.

Well, we would not have this Supreme Court. No Gorsuch, No Kavanaugh, No Amy Comey Barrett. And that would change much of this.

True, I’ve lived there, not from there. I’ll ask my friends who do what they think and keep an open mind.

I don't think he is defending ICE. He's fighting their presence in Minneapolis. Articulating why things aren't as simple as having MPD arresting ICE Officers doesn't mean he supports ICE running amok. Given that he doesn't want armed combat in the streets, he's dealing w/ a evolving/tense dynamic.

I'd first listen to the interview and give this young Mayor benefit of the doubt. Why tear him down? He's getting attacked for cursing at ICE to get the F# out of his city by both MAGA and their media machines. Likely having his life threatened. He needs support not attacks on wordsmithing. Peace.

Chad, framing what Frey is saying in those terms with that Uvalde analogy is misdirected. He's not making excuses, he's defending the city's citizens/their rights while attempting continued safety. His point is about ICE's resources vs the city's, and preventing things from devolving.

I highly recommend one about the toll on Capitol police officers who defended the Capitol on Jan 6th. (Wapo)

I just read the article and others about him to my 94 year old Dad, also a Columbia Law grad. It made him happy. Some elderly people are amazingly sharp and up to the job. I hope he still is. He sounds very principled, which is a good thing.

My multiple Covid Vax Shots and I (including the latest one taken two days ago) are still alive and marveling at the stupid.

This year was brutal. Next year has some make or break energy. And we need to do both.

I waited forever for her to write her next book, then forgot to look. She wrote another novel around 2020 which I totally missed - The Starless Sea. It sounds wild and imaginative and complex. Can't believe I missed it during the pandemic when I really needed an escape. Well, we all still do...
