Hearing loss is a real issue for musicians: doesn't even have to be amplified, if you're sitting directly in front of the brass section it can get pretty loud. Crazy to turn the PA up so loud that you then need hearing protection, but it happens

Any live music that exploits the rhythmic possibilities of MIDI (which enables multiple electronic instruments to play in time) will have a click track to enable the performers to play in time with the midi and/or foldback, plus a mix which enables the artists to hear themselves and other performers

The advantage of such frames is you can find the damn things again after you've taken them off! And yes, these people are idiots: if you want to increase the birthrate, you construct financial incentives accordingly (including access to housing)

Every road in the UK that isn't a motorway should have "Share with care" painted on it, and it's a shame the message is currently only used to chastise cyclists

I came across a stash of old dinners and things saved from overcatered parties, "I'll use this," I'd said with conviction, now they lurk in ice, use-by dates departed

In my book driving sensibly involves driving a speed that allows you to stop should there be a hazard beyond the next bend or hump. If the lane is so narrow that a pedestrian and a car cannot pass, ban cars from it

I don't think we do disagree. The national speed limit of 60 mph is wildly inappropriate on narrow country lanes. The speed limit on them should be reduced and enforced

Do you mean *drivers' behaviour* on the roads is just unacceptable? If so, I'm sorry to hear it. But it is this lawlessness that must be addressed

A narrow lane is not intrinsically dangerous. If people drive too fast along it, it may be. Drivers need to slow down. Speed limits need to be enforced. I'm not slogging through the damn mud and hurdling fences when there's a perfectly good lane to walk along. #reclaimtheroads
