There was a session about Mormons and Jews at MHA that brought up the group. I asked about the temple in the Q&A and he also said that he didn't want to make German immigrants to Utah mad.

There was a play written about the group that was supposed to be performed at BYU. Monson stopped it because he thought having an anti-government play would mean Germany would be less likely to okay the Freiburg temple.

Have you heard of the whole controversy surrounding the play about the group?

One of the jarring moments in the movie is when they did a Heil Hitler at the sacrament meeting. I knew about it, but it still was jarring to see. Either Wobbe or Schnibbe said that the branch president wanted to basically turn it into a nazi meeting, but people were like, no, we're not doing that.

I thought they were more of a Christian company. I guess the do have LDS ties.

Yeah, they do have a longer version that goes through more on their site.

It wasn't favorable to the branch president at all.

It wasn't made by Mormons, so it probably won't be. The film had things in it that weren't quite faith affirming.

I didn't think Rami Malek was the best in it. They almost made Göring's wife look innocent. I didn't like that because most of their wives were just as bad as they were. Other than that, I thought it did a good job with showing how it all happened.

I thought it was good. I'm glad that they showed concentration camp footage because I think people need to see that right now. There's too much holocaust denial and antisemitism right now.

The set was so pretty!
