They certainly outnumber the good ones at my institution, nothing I hear elsewhere seems to contradict that, nor do those surveys published by nature

Currently trying to make the jump myself and finding the network effect to be crucial, I just don’t have much of a network in DS back here in the UK, so portfolio, applications, and potentially freelancing it is. I know I can do the job, just need my foot in the door

Feels like a fresh start without all the junk from that other place… but with all the usual topics of interest 😅😆
