Oh wow! He's writing full on persuasive narratives this year. They were writing "how-to do [insert activity]" paragraphs by the end of Kindergarten. And in 1st grade every week they did a full page journal entry about what they did the past weekend.

We also visit the library a few times a month to replenish his reading pile.

I don't know what school this is but my kid's public school in upstate NY is teaching cursive and his homework is all on paper. Sure he has a tablet for some self paced learning in class but he's fully versed in analog learning. He's in 2nd grade.

Oh this is awful. I am so tired of saying that phase this year.
