The Toronto Maple #Leafs right now are a valuable lesson in not thinking you can replace players like Mitch Marner in the aggregate.
Matthews is now struggling and they can’t defend. 2 things Marner was responsible for. Blaming Marner the passer for not scoring never made sense to me

This team needs to look in the mirror and take somewhat of a “long” view at things. Not even rebuild, just re-set for 2 years. If Quinn wants to leave collect assets, get younger, and get skill in the door. #Canucks fans want vision as bad as they want a cup. Rebuilds don’t have to be 10 years.

I love Quinn as much as the next guy but the #Canucks and this system will never work until he stops playing like an individual and starts using his teammates. Constant bad decisions leading to odd man rushes and the other team stacks shifts.

Once upon a time the #Canucks had an undrafted player who struggled out the gate, improved, struggled in the NHL at first (9pts in 81 GP in year 2) similar to Arshdeep Bains. That player was Alex Burrows.

Bowen Byram signs a 2 year deal to walk him straight to UFA. Kent Johnson has 2 years left. Cole Sillinger has a year left and spends offseason time in BC. Gotta start manifesting all 3 of them as #Canucks 🙏🏽. Bedard will follow

With the emergence of Sasson and drafting Cootes, I wonder if the #Canucks consider moving Raty to the wing (or a trade?). His foot speed wouldn’t be as much of an issue, and he’s shown to be super effective there. Can also take faceoffs if the center is weak there.

With the news of #Canucks trying to get Rossi, hearing Friedman say the team wants to extend Garland is concerning. Can a team with Garland, Hog, Rossi win? Need size and speed. Although the 3 of them are far from soft.

I can’t believe there’s people that watch the Panthers play and compare it to Tocchet hockey. Cats are extremely aggressive in the neutral and d-zone which gets them the puck back. Canucks were extremely passive. Not to mention their potent rush attack. Their D&C works because of the rush.

Dhali mentions the Canucks-Byram connection again. There was smoke around Dobson last year as well for the Canucks. Have they been planning for Hughes’ departure all along? For all the grief I give them, I’d tip my cap if they successfully pivot even after losing such a star.
If the Hronek for a top 6 C trade rumours are true I think that gives even more reason to push for Byram. More of a 1A than Hronek is, too.

Rossi on the trade block. Fan of his but he is small. If Canucks swing for him then they need to move Garland/Hog and bring in a couple big boys like Cuylle/Tuch.
