Next Monday I’ll get chat with the one and only Mr. Henry Mintzberg! While he’s best known for reshaping how we think about strategy and organisations, the focus will be something else: his remarkable collection of 'beaver sculptures', i.e. wood sculpted by beavers www.juhuu.nu/beaver-sculp...

Ever since the 90s, I've been wondering about the power that sysadmins have in the digital systems. In those days I did a few Linux OS setups so I know the basics quite well, but the topic remains obscure in public discourse, which means that...

A small unelected, secretive crew now has free access to sensitive private data of everyone.

And Musk is already publicly targeting family members of judges who rule against the administration.

If this isn’t ringing alarm bells, I don’t know what would.

The symmetry between Germany-Czechoslovakia in 1938 and Russia-Ukraine in 2022 is uncanny, and pausing for a moment on the resemblances might help us to take a broader view of today.

Miltä tuntuvat askeleet kohti ekologista paradigman muutosta pienessä taideorganisaatiossa? Kirjoitin aiheesta viime kesänä ilmestyneeseen Elinvoimaa kulttuurista -pamflettiin. Teksti nostaa esille Tere Vadénin ja Antti Salmisen kirjojen merkitystä tämän muutoksen ymmärtämiselle ja motivoimiselle.

In these trumpian times it was a cathartic experience to visit the Angoulême International Comics Festival, and to see so much work that is unhinged in a positive way, full of life and complexity! And so many people! Approx 200 000 comics enthusiasts annually convene in this small picturesque town.

This is one of the perplexing aspects of the status quo - that destructive, ignorant cynicism is in vogue
I'm exhausted by all the people out there who are trying to prove they're each the most cynical world-weary disillusioned person who's not gonna ever do a fucking thing ever except dump on everything and expect to be admired for that. Wrote about that in 2016:

Jos lakiesitys OKM:n virastouudistuksesta menee läpi, tulee meille Taike + Kavi yhteispaketti nimeltään KULTTUURIVIRASTO. Uudistuksessa ehdotetaan myös muutoksia vertaisarviointiin, mutta huolestuttavalla tavalla ollaan jättämässä yksityiskohdat laissa täysin avoimiksi.
