It has been great to be back in #Aberdeen this week for our second #GreatBritishEnergy board meeting.

Great to learn about the many supply chain companies growing into clean power growth technologies, and also to hear about the challenges we need to help unlock many more such opportunities.

At #RUKGOW25 today, and as SOS, Ed Miliband said in his speech today, this industry has in 15 years gone from being in the margins, to being in the mainstream of UK industrial and economic policy. 32,000 people now work in UKs offshore wind sector alone and this is set to grow rapidly.

Exciting - Our journey to becoming a publicly owned #cleanpower company truly start today!

We will embrace the responsibility that comes with this to accelerate clean power generation and boosting economic growth and jobs in our key coastal industrial regions.

#GreatBritishEnergy's first major investment today - a roll out of roof top clean solar power on our schools and hospitals.

Energy savings of £400m from these installations will be reinvested back into education and healthcare, so a tremendous community investment.

Fascinating discussions with Greg Jackson of @octopus.energy today.
They are showing how flexible, agile energy pricing is bringing energy costs down, enabled by more renewable energy generation.

#GBE plans to enable more of that and help make energy bills more predictable and lower.

#PenyCymoedd Wind Farm is the largest onshore wind farm in England and Wales, with 76 turbines that can power 15% of homes in Wales with renewable electricity.

Fantastic to discuss with @Vattenfall opportunities for expanding projects like this and the value created for local communities.
