I kind of think of the life of a forward in three stages.

1) Refining their skills, finishing and movement instinct. Ideally this happens somewhere where they can achieve flow no matter their level.

2) Absorbing more advanced tactical demands. This is the tough part.

3) Completion.

Establishing flow and a sort of protagnistic independence is very very necessary for a forward and also really tough if you're at a big club! Sad to see!

I watch them at times and think "something has to give". There's a marked intensity everywhere in their game on and off the ball.
