We’ve gone twice: first time went straight to Ghent and used it as a base to explore Belgium (Ypres, Bruges etc) before heading to Munich (and on to Salzburg and Budapest).Second time, on day 1 got to Mainz in Germany for dinner (9:01 Eurostar to Brussels) and in position for Nuremberg the next day.

Absolutely. We got as far as Budapest last year and Vienna this summer. Not done a farm holiday but we’ve stopped in many beautiful German towns and cities. Loved Nuremberg in particular.
