I’m currently reading a very good book about the American invasion of 1775-76. I’ve reached the attempt to take Quebec City where General Montgomery is killed and Benedict Arnold is shot in the leg. The Americans thought the Canadians would be delighted to join them but they were wrong.

Morgan and Marx were desperately poor and two of Marx’s children died here. He also had a 4th daughter who they also named Jenny.

My great great grandfather Morgan Kavanagh sublet 2 rooms to Karl Marx at 28 Dean St. in London. The 1851 census has Marx listed as Charles Marks. He lived there with his wife Jenny, 3 daughters also named Jenny, a couple of sons and their servant who was likely also his mistress.
