It is possible that I am misinterpreting where you were riding, but last Friday I rode from the waterfront to West Seattle and there was a bike path the entire way.

It is not super dangerous, they have been very good about maintaining a bike lane.

And the wild flowers are blooming!

I was pretty stunned when I saw it. I don’t know how long they flower but they are at peak bloom right now.
